When I was a junior high school student, I fell in love with Korean dramas and started self-taught Korean in high school. And when I went to university, I chose a school where I could learn Korean and study abroad. I started studying in earnest at university and passed the exam, which made me very happy. However, I thought that learning a foreign language would be the best way to grow, so I started preparing for study abroad. If you go to the site, you will be able to learn about culture and history at the same time as your language skills grow. I would like to learn a lot from this study abroad program that I could not know only in Japan and lead a fulfilling study abroad life.

I took several classes for international students, and also took the same classes as national university students. In the classes for international students, I was able to learn Maragi (speaking), Tukki (listening), Irgi (reading), and Sugi (writing) in a well-balanced manner. In a class made up of a small number of international students, they form pairs to practice conversation. In a Maragi class, they practice reading Korean accurately and quickly. I made a power point and made a presentation in Korean. In Tukki, it was a class to listen and understand Korean news. At Sugi, I took a TOPIK essay preparation class.
During the test period, the seats in the school library were reserved and were always full, and the other cafe spaces in the school were also full of students. I got the impression that Korean students are very hardworking. However, when it came time for the school festival, it was a blast. I was able to experience a unique Korean school festival that I can't experience at Japanese universities, such as making T-shirts in the department and holding a sports day between the departments, idols, rappers, and solo singers performing on stage. I'm studying Japanese, and I joined the Japanese circle "Yui". About 70 Korean students belong to it, and they have planned many events for international students. I went to a training camp called Gwanghwamun in April and MT around May. I also ate chicken at the Han River and watched movies. Even after I returned to Japan, I still keep in touch with the friends I made there, and I want to keep in touch with them.
Outside of school, I went on domestic trips to rural areas, wearing old buildings and traditional costumes, and eating seafood and local specialties. I'm glad that I was able to go to places that I don't often go to when traveling from Japan to South Korea. I also went to the free cultural awards ceremony and idol concerts. I also went to take the TOPIK test locally. I don't think there are many opportunities to stay abroad for 10 months, so I was conscious of going out. I think it's been a very valuable 10 months since I was able to experience local Korea.

Through studying abroad, I was constantly in contact with Korean, so I think my Korean language skills have improved, but what I gained more than that was my ability to take action and communication skills.
Unlike Japan, Korea is a country where you can express your opinions clearly. There is no such thing as the Japanese peculiarity of guessing and being noticed. But from my point of view, they are very kind to me until the end. When I actually entered South Korea, I had an experience where a taxi driver talked to someone at the PCR test site and helped me out. At that time, I felt that Korea is a warm-hearted country. I think I was able to improve my communication skills greatly during classes with only international students and during circle activities.
I spoke Korean with students from various countries, and sometimes I used clumsy English, but I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I was able to complete a task together. During my study abroad, I was able to meet people with various ideas. I was able to hear opinions from a different angle than I had thought before, and I was able to know various values. Through this study abroad, I was able to have various experiences, and I think I gained the courage to challenge myself.
After returning to Japan, I was glad to study abroad when the director of the club told me, "You've become brighter."
My future goal is to get a job that makes use of the communication skills I have cultivated through my study abroad experience. I became interested in a sales job because I came to like talking to people through studying abroad.
I'm going to start job hunting from now on, but no matter what happens, I've become a mindset that won't break my heart, so I'm going to take on more and more challenges.
