I liked TWICE a little while ago. I wanted to know what you were saying, so I decided to study Korean. I wanted to study abroad in Korea and be able to speak Korean rather than study in Japan, so I studied abroad. My uncle and aunt live in Korea, so I wanted to be able to speak Korean when I went out to hang out. This is the reason why I decided to study abroad.
There are two purposes for studying abroad. The first is to be able to speak Korean. Now that I’ve studied abroad, I want to be able to speak. Second, I’m thinking of writing about disaster prevention in Korea in my graduation thesis, so I’d like to get information that I can only get there. If I can afford it, I’d like to visit an entertainment company. And I want to live a fun life every day.
All the classes in the first half were recorded. It wasn’t fun because I just watch what I recorded and submit my assignments. I didn’t go to school and did it at home, so I didn’t have a chance to make friends, so I was very disappointed. However, since my uncle and aunt lived in Korea, they took me to various places, so I was able to live a fulfilling life.
During the winter vacation, the rooms were changed and the two of us started to use the rooms together. I have more opportunities to speak Korean than when I was alone, so I became friends. We had a great time eating and playing basketball together. I went to various places by myself and got used to life in Korea.
The latter half has just begun, so I don’t know what it will look like yet. Lessons can now be taken in classrooms, not in video recordings. I am looking forward to going outside once every two weeks and seeing various facilities. Although there are not no Koreans and the classes are for foreign students only, I am thinking of becoming friends with them because I will have more opportunities to meet them. I will try to make my remaining study abroad more fulfilling. To that end, I will try to increase my chances of speaking Korean and learn it.
I leaned two important things during this study abroad.
The first is the difficulty of doing housework. Because when I was in Japan, I left everything to my mother. When I came to Korea, I had to do all the housework myself, so it was hard at first. But as I went on, it became fun little by little. I thought I’d help my mother when I got back to Japan.
The second is the importance of taking action on your own. When I was in Japan, I could read letters and check with the staff in Japanese, so it was easy. However, it was very difficult to communicate with them in Korea. There are still many words I don’t understand, but I got used to them a little more than when I first came to Korea, and I was able to understand them and overcome them with the atmosphere. Even if communication is difficult, the importance of actively talking to others is also important, so I felt that I had acquired the power to take action.
I haven’t found a goal for the future. I want to continue studying Korean even when I return to Japan. I’m thinking of living a life where I don’t waste my experience studying abroad. Traveling to Korea is cheaper and closer than other countries, so I will be able to make use of the Korean language that I have been studying, so I would like to come back when the travel restrictions are eased.
