My mom introduced me to Japan since I was in elementary school through manga. Since I love stories and drawings, my mom bought me my first manga. Since then my adoration towards Japan has grown, either through culture, manga, anime, dorama, or J-pop. Because I like all of those things, I decided to learn Japanese. At first, I learned Japanese only as a hobby. But there was a time in my life when I was confused about what I wanted to do in the future, then I encountered a Japanese dorama. This dorama opened my eyes, and I felt like I received a miracle that encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I found a new goal. As far as I know, in my country, besides manga and anime, there are not too many translations for Japanese literacy, even though there are so many quality contents that has a spirit to spur readers to never give up on their lives. Because I've felt the miracle through those content, I also want to share it with others who need help. So I decided I wanted to be a Japanese translator. Since then I have decided to seriously learn Japanese so that I can realize my life goals. Because learning a culture and language is better directly in its home country, I am very excited to be able to get a scholarship and study directly in Japan. Therefore, I will take advantage of this opportunity given to me as well as possible and study hard. Because a miracle will feel sweeter if it can be shared with others.

During my time in this program, besides learning the Japanese language, I got to do many activities to enrich my knowledge about Japanese culture. My favorites are field trips and home visits. I went to Okayama prefecture during field trips with international students from other universities. We visited many cultural places and stayed in a ryokan style hotel for the first time in my life. Also, I got to befriend people from other countries. During our exchange, I have gained more insight into other countries. It is so inspirational to me. Then, for the home visit, I could felt what it's like to interact with Japanese families. Although it was short, I could learn firsthand the ways of Japanese family life. And then I also joined a Japanese Speech Contest for the first time. I was so nervous, but I am glad that I could do it well and got a good result. I am grateful to be able to go through all of these experiences.  

After undergoing this program for almost a year, there were so many lessons that I learned. I could learn Japanese in more depth. Although it was quite difficult to understand, I tried to record many things so that I could learn again when I returned to Indonesia. Because language is a knowledge that will continue to develop as long as humans are still present, I must also remain aware of the development of Japanese in the future and continue to study well. I also became more aware of Japanese culture and saw it firsthand. The experience of being able to witness it in person was indeed different. If there is a chance, I will return to visit other historical places in Japan someday. I am amazed by how Japan maintains and preserves its culture, I will try to be able to implement it in my own culture. Finally, about my future goals, my desire to become a translator is increasing. I also want to be able to become a Japanese teacher. Because I like the feeling of being able to share culture with others. I will study harder so that I can realize my goals in the future.
